Margot de Taxco Vintage Mexican Silver & Amethyst Necklace Iconic Design
This breathtaking necklace by Margot de Taxco is one of her most iconic designs and is featured in most of the Mexican Silver Jewelry books as an example of her amazing skill as both a designer and craftsman. She made several variations of this style, some in all silver, some with art glass "jewels" but we think this one with it's deep purple Amethyst cabochons is her most stunning. The necklace measures 14" long (typical length for it's time but a extender could be used to make it more wearable for today's woman) by 3/4" wide and it is quite heavy at 78.2 grams. Hallmarked "Margot de Taxco, Sterling Made in Mexico, 5240" along with the eagle stamp. It is in good vintage condition with only minor age related wear and tarnish - all the amethyst stones are tight in their settings and we see no chips or cracks, only natural inclusions. A remarkable treasure and a fine piece that any collector will cherish. The item "Margot de Taxco Vintage Mexican Silver & Amethyst Necklace Iconic Design" is in sale since Sunday, January 28, 2018.
